It’s Fathers Day shortly. Just like the Mother’s Day post we had earlier in the year, here’s a run down of some of the best free (or cheap!) things you can do for the special day. Don’t forget, you don’t have to spend heaps of cash to make memories!
Get him a new app for his iPad or phone. Maybe a game you’ve been playing or an activity tracker. Whilst some of these do cost money, there are so many freebies out there!
BBQ season is well underway (what do you mean you’ve not had one yet!?) so why not treat your Dad to some new BBQ tools. They don’t have to cost much, but it’s probably about time he threw away they charred ones from 1992. No Dad, they don’t add extra flavour!
Beer subscriptions are on trend right no, but they are pretty expensive. I found some awesome ales in Lidl, some for less than £1 a bottle. Why not spend £5 on a few bottles?
If a new razor and shaving accessories would be up your Dad’s street, you don’t have to spend loads. Discount shops like B&M or Home Bargains often have really good products (well packaged too! )at low prices. Give yourself a budget and stick to it.
Sign him up for a Spotify (other companies avaialble!) free trial. If you cancel it for him too he won’t receive a bill. 30 days of free rock ‘n’ roll sounds ace, might convine him to dig those vinyls out the loft too!
Share your Netflix/NowTV/Amazon password with him so he can catch up on the new series of Prison Break or whatever you’ve been banging on to him about.
Cook him a meal, spend time with him and give him a hug.
So there you go, there’s a few things you could try. Let me know any others that you can think of. Remember, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. I know as a Dad I would rather they kept their cash in their pocket. Time spent together is not only free, but priceless!
Happy Father’s Day, especially to my Dad. Love ya Pops!
