Free Trials To Keep You Entertained

During these times of all-but-lockdown and self isolation, it’s hard to keep yourself sane. Already my mental health is suffering and we’re barely in the depths of it all yet. Many of us are watching the pennies due to losing clients and jobs being paused. Taking advantage of free trials is the perfect way to stay entertained. Read on for some of the best freebies around.

Spotify

If you’ve never used Spotify before you can use the music streaming platform, for free, for one month. After that you’ll start being charged depending on the package you sign up for, which is £4.99 a month for students up to £14.99 for families. If you just want to use the free trial, be sure to make a note of when you need to cancel by to avoid being charged. This is one of the best free trials to keep you going through the next few weeks, picking the music you want to listen to, when you want to sing along with it, ad free!

Amazon Prime Video

New Amazon Prime Video users can get 30 days for free before they start getting charged. If you’re stuck indoors and want to binge watch some of the top box sets around, now you can. Without even spending a penny! You can watch Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne in Carnival Row, see what all the fuss is about by watching The Boys and laugh at the adventures of Clarkson, Hammond and May in The Grand Tour. There is plenty of stuff for kids to watch too. I’m reading reports that Amazon is making a lot of family friendly content free to all during the Coronavirus outbreak so keep an eye out for that. You can get a free 30 day trial to Amazon Music too.

Now TV

The Sky-operated streaming service has loads of amazing shows available to watch. From The Walking Dead to Game Of Thrones and the amazing Chernobyl, there are loads of box sets as well as a whole host of spectacular cinema. You can currently get a 7 day free trial to Now TV. If you decide to continue after the trial, click through an cashback site like Quidco. You’ll get up to £12 cashback, which makes some of the passes free! I’ve read that the company are also giving away free 3 months Kids passes to help during the Covid-19 pandemic. Your kids can sit contently and watch Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig and magical adventures like The Gruffalo, perfect for homeschooling!

Disney+

Disney+ launched this week and it a new kid on the block. However, with so much content to choose from, they’re making amazing strides already. You can get a 7 day trial to the new streaming service with access to amazing shows and films including The Mandalorian, Toy Story 4 and Avengers: Endgame. If you decide to continue your membership, it’s actually one of the cheapest around at only £5.99 a month.

YouTube Premium

YouTube has some top shows available on it’s platform such as the TV follow up to The Karate Kid movies, Cobra Kai. Get a one month free trial which will mean you have access to ad-free YouTube, YouTube premium shows and the new music streaming service YouTube Music. Be sure to cancel before the end of the month otherwise it’ll be £9.99 a month.

Get Fit Indoors

If you want to get fit indoors, Davina McCall has made her platform Own Your Goals completely free for 30 days. Credit card details aren’t required and there’s no commitment, meaning that unlike many free trials, you’re membership won’t continue after the free trial and charge you. Many people are self isolating but wanting to stay fit so this could be the perfect solution.

There are loads of other streaming services available with free trials. You can get a month free to access BritBox. Apparently, Netflix threw out it’s 30 day free trial back in December. But it’s also advertised as currently active, so it might be worth a look. WWE have made some content on their network available to watch for free and they also have a separate full access free trial available. Don’t forget that BBC iPlayer, ITV hub, 4OD & My5 are all catch up services too with great shows.

Stay safe & listen to the advice during this time. Look after each other and use these free trials to make staying in that little bit more bearable.
