What To Do If You Need Money

If you need money right now, you can often start panicking wondering how you’ll find it. It could be for an unexpected bill, to pay back a debt being called in or or simply to put food on the table. Here are some ideas of what you can do if you need money.

Sell What You Have

One of the quickest ways to raise cash is by selling something you own. You could take it to a pawn shop or list it on somewhere like Facebook Marketplace for free. You may not want to sell your belongings, but you need to weigh up the interest of that debt piling up tomorrow against clearing it today. Or feeding your family, sending the kids to bed with full tummies. Selling a ring or a laptop or something might help giving you some breathing room for the next week or so.

What Is The Root Cause Of Your Money Problems?

You need to find out what the root cause of the situation you find yourself in. There are some amazing companies who will help you, for free. You don’t need to pay for help. Organisations like Christians Against Poverty can help you sort your money woes out. Citizens Advice can even offer help and if you’re short on money for food they can help you access a foodbank. Finding a solution to create a way out of where you’re currently at is important. Money can have a huge affect on mental health and stress. Please find some support.

Pay Day Loan Temptation

To get yourself out of a money hole, a pay day loan can often seem like a great solution. It’s not. It won’t help you in the long run, only right now. TO pay your bill you’re getting yourself into more debt starting as soon as you accept that pay day loan. Please don’t be pulled in my the bright colourful graphics on their adverts. Your repayments at a high interest rate is how they make those adverts and make their money!

Could You Ask Family?

I’m not a fan of suggesting borrowing from family as money as drive a wedge between loved ones. However, it’s a better solution than a pay day lender, if done properly. A contract needs to be put into place, with your family member as the lender and you as the borrower. You need to agree how much will be paid back and over how long. This is one way of avoiding interest, because they might not charge you it. Families can help each other out but so often one borrowing of cash leads to another and it’s not a solution. Families don’t want to see their loved ones in trouble though so this is a good idea, if done properly.

There are ways to find money if you need money now. Please don’t just sell your things and think that will sort it though The same with borrowing from your loved ones. If you are facing money issues, you need to find some help and even shift your money mindset about what you’re spending your cash on. Look after your money and it will look after you.
