It can be challenging at times to keep our children motivated to learn. However, it is important to do so if we want to ensure that they perform well throughout their school life. You may be wondering how you can help, which is why I have teamed up with a private school in Banstead, to offer you some guidance.
One brilliant way to ensure that your child continues to learn, even during school holidays, is to encourage them to read. Perhaps you could initiate a family book club to make this more appealing to your child. Reading is great because it helps them with their spelling, grammar, and general vocabulary. It also allows them to learn more about different historical events and cultural backgrounds.

If reading isn’t really your child’s thing, perhaps they would prefer to explore the great outdoors. This is another fantastic learning environment for children and it also helps them develop their physical skills. You could start a vegetable patch in the garden with your child to teach them about how plants grow. Alternatively, you could take a walk through the local woods and discuss the different trees and wildlife.
Children who are struggling with certain subjects might be less inclined to complete their schoolwork. With that in mind, you may need to consider employing a private tutor to help your child with certain subject areas outside of lesson time. However, it might just be that they need some new textbooks and revision guides, so be sure to look into this as an option.
If you’re finding it difficult to keep your child motivated to learn, don’t be afraid to contact their teachers for some additional support. Most teachers love to hear from parents as it helps both parties reach the common goal of helping your child succeed.
