Lockdown has caused us all to see things differently. Work differently. Shop differently. Act differently. The Covid 19 pandemic has made us even look at relationships, love and sex differently. How has the global Coronavirus outbreak changed this intimacy and will these changes stay in place once we’re living in a new normal? Let’s discuss!
Those Living Together
Partners who live together, married or not, have been thrown into a world of spending 24/7 together. There’s no seeing friends and extended family. There’s no nipping out to go to the gym to burn off some energy. We’re working and living in each others pockets. For some this will strengthen their relationship. It could even lead to a baby boom as couples pass the time with sex. For others it will shown cracks in the situation. This could lead to divorce further down the line.

Single Folk
There has been a drop in one night stands. Understandably really as pubs and clubs have closed. There has also been a spike in sex toys, as if the delivery driver key workers helping to keep the country going haven’t got enough on their plates. They probably know what’s in the unmarked packages they’re leaving on the doorsteps though! Single folk are having to embrace technology to meet people. From online dating to finding other ways to connect with strangers looking for fun. There are ways to enjoy the single life in lockdown. If you live in Bournemouth you can log onto websites to meet others who are looking for sex in Dorset. These sites cover the length and breath of the country too. From Blackpool to Scarborough, London to Edinburgh. If you live in Burton upon Trent, head to www.staffordshiresexsite.co.uk to find people in the same situation as you.
Isolated Relationships
For those who are in relationships but not living together, things can be tough. Your imagination can run away with you and those text messages are often read in a completely different context to how they are sent. When we’re missing people, are they missing us? Maybe they’re enjoying the time without us. Maybe we’re enjoying the time without them. There will be many relationships that break down and people go their separate ways because of this situation. Similarly, there will be those who, as soon as they can, will jump into each others arms and move their relationship forward. It might even be the reason for some proposals!

What Does After Lockdown Love Life Look Life?
I fully expect things that have happened in this pandemic to alter and stay with us as we navigate life after lockdown. That includes the way we meet people, date people, connect with people we’re interested in a relationship with. The way we find boyfriends, girlfriends, get intimate with one another and even connect when we are engaged and married will change. What it looks like, who knows but these things we’re picking up during the lockdown process will no doubt follow through with us.
