Find You Soulmate During The Pandemic

This is a paid collaboration.

This year has been all kinds of crazy. From lockdowns to masks to not being able to do the things we love doing. On top of that we’ve been unable to see the people we love. For many of us though, we’ve been lonely during these lockdowns as the people we love we don’t live with. If you’re not even in a relationship it has been even more lonely. However, not being with someone doesn’t mean you can’t meet someone. Let’s look at how we can continue to date in these strange times and perhaps even meet our soulmate!

We’re Going Online

For so many things, we’ve gone online this year. Using phones, tablets and laptops, we’ve been keeping businesses going over the internet, logging into marketing calls and chatting with friends as we enjoy wine and cheese quiz nights. As well as using the internet to keep life going and order our supermarket shopping, we’re also able to meet new people on the internet. There are lots of dating sites out there which will connect your profile with likeminded people. This is fantastic but right now lots of us don’t want to be travelling the length and breadth of the country to meet. Logging into local dating sites connects us with people in the local area. This means we can connect with other people and then know they are somewhere nearby. This gives us great opportunity o actually meet after we connect online. So if you’re based in St Ives, for example, a Cornwall dating site would be perfect for you!

Take Things Offline

Once we’ve connected with people online and maybe there is a certain someone who you can’t get out of your head, see if it’s a possibility to meet up in your local park or take a walk on the beach together. You can stay socially distanced but if they feel the same as you perhaps do about them, you know where the local hotspots are to enjoy a walk together and you can take sending each other messages or video chat to the next level by actually meeting face to face. You might not be able to do the things that you’d usually do on a date like holding hands or leaning in for a kiss, but actually having some connection in the same vicinity as one another is much better than nothing. By grabbing a takeaway coffee you can still treat them to a cappuccino, but sitting down in a restaurant together and buying them dinner might have to wait for a little bit further down the line.

Many of us struggle with making the first move, but being able to do that from behind your keyboard might be just the confidence you need to put yourself out there. Start chatting to local people online, take it to a video call with someone who stands out from the crowd and then see if they fancy meeting up. You never know, if things go well, you could end up moving in together and you wouldn’t have to uproot your lives or jobs as you know you live nearby. What are you waiting for?
