We all love to binge-watch the latest and greatest series that all our friends and family are talking about. You might see some chatter on social media about a new series with that actress you love. Maybe the next season of that show you adored last year is about to hit the screens. With so much entertainment available, we can so often get carried away with the number of TV subscriptions we have. Perhaps you’ve had Sky in the past but have been shocked by the rising prices and have hence voted with your feet and left? There is some great content available on Sky though, so what can you do to save money and still have access to the home of entertainment that is Sky Max? Let’s have a look.
What Is Sky Max?
Sky Max is promoted as the new home for Sky’s blockbuster entertainment. It’s entertainment, supercharged. It actually replaced what you might remember being Sky One. The switch took place in late 2021 and the rebranding is now well in place and part of the Sky package.

How Can You Watch Sky Max?
If you are a Sky customer you can access Sky Max on channel 113. The content shown on Sky Max is also available via the on-demand service. Virgin and BT customers can also access the channel if it is part of their package. Sky Max is also available on NOW (formerly NOW TV).
The Content Available
Recently, the company has been pushing hard on the new Keeley Hawes drama The Midwich Cuckoos. It’s been advertised everywhere and the 7-part series is well worth a watch. Other top shows include A Discovery of Witches, The Flight Attendant, Brassic, A League of Their Own, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and COBRA. This is only scratching the surface though, there is so much content available and you will discover shows you already love and new series to fall in love with.
How To Save Money
Of course, even with so much content, we all only have so much free time to watch TV. Cutting down the amount of money we spend on these entertainment packages is a must. How can you slice the cost whilst still having access to Sky Max? Well, firstly, if you are a Sky, Virgin, or BT customer, give them a call and haggle. There have been increases in prices recently and you might be able to get some cash knocked off the price you are paying with a simple phone call.

A great trick though is to sign up to NOW instead. NOW is a subscription service where you aren’t tied in. You simply buy passes or let your subscription roll, whilst being able to cancel it whenever you wish. This is where the trick comes into play. The monthly NOW Entertainment pass, includes access to Sky Max, as well as kid’s TV! You’ll also be able to watch other shows from Sky Atlantic like Game Of Thrones and Sky Witness such as The Rookie. It is usually £9.99 a month but there are some great offers to be had.
You can often grab it, as a new customer, for £4.99 a month for 2 months. That’s basically two months for the price of one. However, when you come to cancel, you are often met with some offers to entice you to stay. I have seen £3.99 a month for 6 months as well as £1 a month for 2 months.
Save & Watch
Don’t just sit and accept the price you are paying for stuff. Even if you love the shows on Sky Max, you are likely paying more than you need to be for access to the service. Give the company a call or swap how you watch it and bag some great offers.
