Ever get one of those weeks, maybe months, where you feel like you’re constantly spending cash? I’m going through that right now.
When you feel like you’re shelling out notes, and coins and passing your card over again and again. I think we all go through that sometimes.
For me, the van broke down, needed a new battery, bang £100 right there. Then I took our eldest out for the morning to spend some of his birthday money but ended up spending money on other gifts, food, lunch and sweets. That’s not counting the train fare to get home. As well as this we needed fuel, and I’ve had to pay for a Christmas stall to sell some of my calendars. Everything has come at once, but it’s not something new. It does happen sometimes and my wife and I often say that we’re going through a spending season.
It can be difficult but this is why we save. Our savings aren’t huge, even more so after these bits of spending, but they certainly help us out when we need it.
