What Is Money Saving Expert?
The website Money Saving Expert was set up by financial guru (and hero of mine!) Martin Lewis. It serves as a massive font of knowledge for many people looking for anything from help with cutting the cost of living to personal finance planning for the future. Martin Lewis has done so much for the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic and deserves a lot of credit for pushing so many initiatives and putting the pressure on the government to help support us, the general public. The information on the MSE website serves so many people day in day out.
What Is The Open University?
The Open University offers a variety of courses, from open learning to supported distance and flexible part time study. It’s a public research university and, I bet you didn’t know this, the largest university in the UK for undergraduate education. Many people learn and earn qualifications through the Open University every year.
What Is The Academy Of Money?
The Academy Of Money is a new venture between Money Saving Expert and The Open University. As it’s basic level, it’s six two-hour financial education courses. It covers making good spending decisions, budgeting, tax, mortgages, savings, investments, planning for retirement and lots more. There are explanatory videos from Martin Lewis too, who said the following about the new course.
“Our aim is to provide a more formal learning environment for those who want to dedicate their time to improving their financial knowledge. Education is a form of financial self-defence, and so we’re delighted to encourage people to tool themselves up.”
