Perhaps the go-to of all the online selling websites is Ebay. Loads of people use this on a daily basis to sell and resell items and you could make a small fortune listing some items that you no longer want. You can list your products for free and if they sell you pay 10% as a fee to Ebay. You can also take advantage of £1 listing weekends, where you only pay a maximum of £1 per sale. Perfect if you’re selling higher priced items where you’d have to pay a lot more in fees otherwise.
Make a pile of your items and get ready to sell them on Ebay. If it’s got a bar code on the item you’re selling, like a DVD, you can use the camera on your phone to scan the code and bring up the details. It will also give you a price to start bidding at and you’ll find details on how much the same product has sold for previously. Ebay is one of the best selling websites for many reasons and if you’re not using it to make a bit of extra cash on things you don’t use anymore, you’re missing out.
Facebook Marketplace
Did you know that you can sell on Facebook? With a plethora of users in your local area, you can sell to people in your community, without having to pay any fees. It’s free to use! Free! Once you’ve taken a photo of your product, simply use your Facebook account to go to Marketplace and list your item. As well as sharing it on Marketplace you can add it to other local selling groups you’re part of, should you want to.
You can now boost your listing with some £££ to get in front of more people but really, you don’t need to use this function. The first item we ever put on Facebook Marketplace was a small bookshelf and it was messaged about and collected from us within 90 minutes. That was £10 we didn’t have before, for something we no longer needed. Facebook has the users, take advantage of that. With the lack of fees and the fact you can simply say ‘collection only’, the buyers bring their cash to you and take away the things you no longer want. Facebook Marketplace is beyond perfect for selling your wares online!
Gumtree
Gumtree has been around a while and is a solid and trusty option if you’re comparing online selling websites. It’s unlike other sites as it pulls together a whole host of things. From selling items, giving them away for free and even letting people know about rooms available to rent. This could be perfect for you, especially if you have a car to sell as Gumtree is often a go-to place to flog your motor. Perhaps you have a sofa to give away as you no longer need it. Get it on Gumtree and someone in your local area will probably make use of it, whilst picking it up too!
There are so many extras on Gumtree too. It’s a bit of a community hub and you can often find sports teams advertsigint that they need new players for their local Sunday league teams. Other Sites & Apps
There are a whole bunch of other alternatives available including Shpock, Vinted, Depop and Preloved. A lot of these, and others, are perfect if you have niche items like vintage clothing. You’ll be surprised what people buy online. From broken items to brand new unopened things you thought were worthless. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
