Even though the pandemic seems to have been going on forever, we haven’t yet had a Valentine’s Day in lockdown. Valentines Day 202 took place as the global pandemic was beginning to take hold and almost 2 weeks before there were only 16 confirmed cases of Covid 19 here in the UK. So, whilst we’ve navigated birthdays, Easter, summer holidays, Halloween, Christmas, New Year and countless other annual events in this strange situation, how can we celebrate Valentines Day in lockdown?

If You’re Single
Many of us hate Valentines Day at the best of times. However we can so often go out with other single mates. This year though, you could decide to tuck yourself up on the sofa with a bottle of wine and a movie, or maybe try something that little bit different. This year has been all about different experiences so why not continue this into your dating life? How about signing up to an online dating website and enjoying a date over video chat with someone? If you live in Mansfield or Newark-on-Trent, why not sign up to a Nottinghamshire dating site? Sign up today and you could score yourself a date for Valentines Day. Sparking up conversation online can lead to exchanging numbers, video chat and maybe even meeting up. One of the best things about dating via local sites is that when we get to that glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and life opens up again, you won’t have to travel that far to meet someone you’ve connected with. You’ll be guaranteed a date in Nottinghamshire.

If You’re In A Relationship
For those of us in relationships, life is strange at the moment. Working from home, seeing each other more, perhaps getting under each others feet and having to juggle homeschooling together. It can all be a little bit too much. Don;t put too much pressure on Valentines Day this year. See it as a night off where you can just be together. It might be a case of just ordering takeaway and then sitting together over a glass of wine (or maybe even a warm cup of tea!) whilst it’s delivered. Maybe chat about your day or ignore that altogether and just cuddle on the sofa in front of something trashy on the TV. Lots of us will be working on Valentines Day itself and there will be plenty of keyworkers and shift staff who simply can’t have a Valentines Day meal together. But do we really have to celebrate our love on one particular day. It’s cute and romantic to receive a card and maybe a bunch or flowers. But make your own time for enjoy one another’s company. Leave distractions aside. Put phones in the drawer and switch off the door bell once the takeaway has been delivered. Go for an early morning walk together. Make breakfast your date, who doesn’t love a fry up with your gorgeous loved one?! Hell, why not paint that spare room together? Your relationship is unique within itself, so celebrate your love how you’d like. That might even be an early night, especially if you’re up at 5am with the kids!
