Hands up, who asked for a new way to stream what you want to watch on TV? If it was you, you’ll be pleased to know that Virgin Media Stream is available from today (April 27th 2022). Let’s have a look at what this new device from Virgin Media is all about and what the benefits are of Stream.

What Is Virgin Media Stream?
Virgin Media Stream is a new plug-and-play box which can be connected to any television with a HDMI port. All your streaming apps are then gathered together in one place and you can add and remove them each month depending on what you want. There is no long term contract, simply a 30 day rolling one. New and existing Virgin Media Broadband customers can order the device from today. The device is 4K-enabled and also supports voice control. Sounds good!
What Can You Watch?
Shows and content that you can watch include free television channels, free-to-watch apps and streaming subscriptions such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+. You can also combine your live TV subscriptions like Sky Sports and BT Sport. Users can add and remove content as they see fit via the My Virgin Media app. This is great if you are away on holiday as you can plan ahead and cancel, renewing when you return. You can flick between Disney+ originals and must watch Netflix documentaries with no issues.

How Much Does It Cost?
The box has a £35 activation fee. After that there are no further fees apart from the streaming services that you opt to use. One of the massive things that Virgin Media Stream has going for it is a 10% price discount on the streaming services that you use. So usually you would pay £7.99 for Disney+. Use it via Virgin Media Stream and the monthly bundled bill and it will only be £7.19. Those using Netflix’s £15.99 Premium plan will pay £14.19. When did you last see a way to save money or grab a regular discount on streaming services?
Virgin Media Stream Benefits
Virgin Media has always used cables to get their entertainment to your house. Stream uses broadband, which is ideal for those who don’t want driveways digging up. I think it’s a good idea to see all your entertainment costs as one bill. We can so often sign up to one free trial which we then forget to cancel or pay for a streaming service because it’s only £7.99 a month. But it all adds up. Seeing one bill every month might make you realise just how much you’re spending on TV streaming and make you slash a couple of those subscriptions.

What do you think about this new way to stream TV from Virgin Media? Will you be signing up or are you happy with your streaming services? I think the 10% discount on services such as Netflix and Disney+ could be a huge gamechanger as discounts on these are very rare. Let me know what you reckon over on Twitter.
