Cheap Easter Eggs & More!

Easter is on it’s way and those delicious chocolate eggs are already on the supermarket shelves. The question is where can you get the most chocolate for your hard earned cash? Where can you get cheap Easter eggs?

Own Brand Are Still Tasty

So many folk seem to look down their nose at own brand chocolate. We actually prefer the taste (and the price!) of Tesco’s own brand chocolate compared to the likes of Dairy Milk. It’s the same with chocolate Easter eggs. You’ll spend less on supermarket own brands than you do on well known names. It’s even better for kids too. They generally don’t really care as long as they end up with a chocolate face at the end of the day. If you’re gifting chocolate eggs this Easter time, spend less by shopping own brand!

Branded Eggs On Offer

The supermarkets buy branded Easter eggs in bulk, knowing that people will be looking to buy them. Generally they try and sell them off early so they can free up the shelf space. That means offers, which are good for the customer! Expect to see Cadbury or Nestle medium sized Easter eggs on offer for about 75p. This is probably the lowest they’ll get before the Easter weekend. Large eggs might be available on offer at around £2. Grab cheap Easter eggs and pop them away. On top of the wardrobe is a good place, out of the way of wandering eyes and greedy tummies!

Check If A Deal Is A Deal

Is a deal actually a deal? I wrote a while ago about how you could get three small boxes (41.5g) of Cadburys Mini Eggs for £1, instead of 50p each. You could also buy a 90g bag of the same Mini Eggs ‘on offer’ for £1. The weight difference is incredible. You get far more by buying three little boxes, by over a third! 124.5g compared to 90g! For the same price.

Do You Really Need A Mug?

Think about what you’re actually buying. Whilst big colourful branded boxes with a new Kit Kat mug inside look appealing, do you actually need a new mug? You’re paying for the mug. Generally with the mug eggs you only get a single chocolate egg and maybe a bar alongside it. You could get far more chocolate for your money by only buying chocolate. Don’t be a mug!

Egg Alternatives

There are many egg alternatives available these days. As well as dairy free and vegan Easter eggs, you can also get Easter themed jelly sweets. How about a cheese Easter egg? There are so many delicious and slightly off-the-wall products out there in the shape of a bunny or with an Easter theme. If you’re kids are bound to get loads of chocolate, why not get them something else they’d love this Easter? A new game perhaps? Be creative!

Buy Posh Chocs After Easter

If you can wait until after Easter, you can pick up delicious and expensive Easter goodies for a fraction of the price. Think about Hotel Chocolat and Throntons for a bargain price. After the event itself, retailers want to get rid of their excess stock to make way for products for the next occasion. That is when you can get amazingly cheap Easter eggs!
