We all love Christmas. It’s the time of year many of us look forward to the most. Whilst it can be a little bit crazy with the hustle and bustle and trying to get work organised to enjoy some time off, spending time together is awesome. Some people have traditions that they do every year whereas others try to create new memories annually. Christmas 2024

We know when Christmas Day is. It’s the same date every year, December 25th. This is awesome as we can plan towards it, both financially and in terms of what we are doing with family and at work. The actual day of the week changes though. Christmas 2024 falls on a Wednesday.

This means that Wednesday 25th December 2024 will be the Christmas Day bank holiday. In turn, Thursday 26th December 2024 will be the Boxing Day bank holiday. There are no alternative bank holiday days because both Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on weekdays.

Book Your Work Holidays

Now we know when Christmas 2024 actually is, we can plan our vacation days off work. Due to Wednesday and Thursday being bank holidays, you only need to book Monday, Tuesday and Friday off work in order to have nine days off. Turning three days into nine days of pretty amazing! This is because you will have the weekend before Christmas (21st & 22nd) off work, as well as the weekend after (28th & 29th). That gives you nine days by simply taking three days of your annual leave.

You could take Monday 20th & Tuesday 31st December off as well, to give you twelve days for the price of five. This will give you vacation time up until New Year’s Day. Of course, this doesn’t work for 100% of the population. Some people work shifts and others work on Christmas Day and other bank holidays. If it does work for you though, it’s a great way to maximise your time off for Christmas 2024.

Planning For Christmas 2024 All Year Round

How do you finance your Christmas festivities? There is so much to take into consideration, from food to days out with the family. The problem is, many of us try and finance Christmas when we actually get to the festive season. If you plan for Christmas 2024 throughout the year, the money you put aside is much more manageable.

Looking back at how much you spent on Christmas in previous years will give you an average figure that you need to set aside. You could simply come up with a budget that you are happy to spend this year. Divide that number by 12 to get monthly amounts. Splitting by 52 to get weekly amounts. £600 would be £50 a month or £11.54 a week. £450 would be £37.50 a month or £8.65 a week. These are much more manageable than finding the full lump sum when December rolls around.

Christmas Conclusion

It is so easy to forget about Christmas for most of the year and start scrambling around at the last minute. However, if we set up automatic payments to save into a dedicated Christmas bank account throughout the year, we can get a better handle on things. Now is the time to book those annual leave days off. Plan for Christmas 2024 and give yourself plenty of fun to look forward to.
