Where Is Legoland In The UK?

There are Legolands dotted around the globe, but for those of us here in the United Kingdom, we need to head to Windsor. Just outside of London and just a stone’s throw from Windsor Castle, you will find Legoland Windsor. It is full of fantastic rides, wonderful experiences, and loads of Lego-themed fun! So let’s have a look at how to book cheap breaks to Legoland Windsor.

How To Book Legoland Breaks

If you are looking for short breaks to Legoland, there are lots of options available depending on your budget. There is a hotel onsite at Legoland Windsor so you can stay and play, extending your trip. However, you will pay for the privilege. Of course, you can simply buy daily tickets and then travel to the park every day. There are pros and cons to both options. You can check out what we did on our first trip here.

Visit During Term Time

The prices increase during the school holidays. Just as they do for many attractions aimed at families with small children. If your children or not in school or you are happy to pull them out for a couple of days, you can save a lot of money on your on-site accommodation by visiting during term time. This can be a great way to save money on Legoland short breaks.

Pick An Early Date

We visited during the February half-term holidays and managed to book 2 nights and 2 days in the park, for a family of five, for around £700. We made the absolute most of it, by using the onsite pool, free parking, and free breakfast. It also cut down travel time as we were there when we needed to be and didn’t have to battle traffic. If you break it down it actually works out to be not too bad. When I’ve compared what we paid in February to the same in August, it jumps to well over £1100.

Swap Your Days

The amount you pay for a short break at Legoland changes depending on the day of the week you stay. Midweek seems to be slightly cheaper than booking closer to the weekend. If you have some flexibility with when you can visit for your Legoland short breaks, you can save a little bit extra.

Use 2 For 1 Admission Offers

You might have seen 2-for-1 deals on the side of cereal boxes for Merlin attractions. Legoland Windsor is owned and operated by Merlin, so you can use these promotions to bring down the cost that you pay. These a great if you decide to stay offsite and simply need to book your park tickets.

Book A Short Break Promotion

When you sign up for the Legoland Windsor newsletter, you will get emails about the latest promotions. We managed to book our trip during a promotion that was running where you got a free second day in the park. This works out really well for us as we were able to travel down one day, stay in the hotel overnight, wake up and go in the park, have another night in the hotel, and then another day in the park before heading home. We actually booked a budget hotel an hour’s drive away so we could rest after the hectic adventure. Sign up for the newsletter and keep an eye out for Legoland break deals.

Create Your Own Short Break

If you are happy to travel to the resort every day and pay for parking, how about creating our own Legoland short breaks? See if you can find a cheap hotel nearby, or a B&B that you can base yourself at. Maybe you have friends or family in the area and you can sleep in their spare room. If you can create your own Legoland short breaks you can probably save some cash!

When you do get around to booking, be sure to earn some cashback. Legoland Windsor is on Quidco so you can get a percentage back of what you spend. Even 1% cashback could be £10 back in your pocket. You can also book with a cashback card. This is great if you have a credit card giving you 5% cashback for 3 months. On an £800 booking, that would be a £40 saving!
