Have you heard of Tonies? You may have seen the TV advert, spotted them online or seen them in a shop. To begin with, I admit, I was sceptical. However once we had bought one, I understood why they are so loved. This is my Tonies review and I’ll also explain how you can save money on Tonies characters as you build your story-telling collection.

What Is Tonies?
Tonies is a brand that specialise in bringing stories and songs to life. Getting kids away from screens and giving them elegant and wonderful audio entertainment is what Tonies is all about. You first buy a Toniebox, which you charge up and use on the go. It is a cube-shaped box, available in a variety of different colours. You will notice a speaker and two ‘ears’ whilst are part of the controls. When you set up your box, you will connect to the app, create your own account and also hook up to your Wi-Fi. On top of the box is a small magnetic plate where you place your Tonies characters.
These are individually handpainted figurines that can be put on top of the box and bring the story or songs to life. When you place a figure on top, the content is downloaded via your Wi-Fi. It can then be played, providing entertainment for kids all throughout the day and, of course, at bedtime.
What Tonies Characters Are Available?
There are so many incredible Tonies characters available, I couldn’t possibly mention them all in my Tonies review. You will find something for everyone, from The Gruffalo and Stickman to Thomas The Tank Engine. There are also Disney favourites including The Lion King, Frozen, Cars, Tangled and Moana.
You might think it is just for younger kids but your Toniesbox can grow with your children. There are some great figures available for older children including Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, Miraculous, Horrible Histories, How To Train Your Dragon and titles from National Geographic too.

When you have set up your Tonies account online and on the app, you can access free downloadable content. When you buy a Toniesbox, you get a creative Tonie. Use this for your own content. Each creative Tonie can have up to 90 minutes of your own stories or music. You can download free content for your creative Tonie too. Free content changes regularly and can include stories, songs, and quizzes. It’s also a great way to start learning other languages.
Being able to put your own content on is a great idea. Get Grandparents to read stories, which can be put onto the creative Tonie and listened to for years to come. It’s a wonderful way to still hear Grandparent’s voices when they have passed. It is also a good way for kids to hear from parents who perhaps travel a lot for work. Creative Tonies come in a variety of colours and you can choose the skin tone too, helping every child feel included.

Final Thoughts
