Socially Distanced Dating

The is a paid collaboration.

The dating world was flipped on it’s head when lockdown kicked in. Many single people spent a good couple of months by themselves. With restrictions being lifted and things seemingly calming do a little, how can we get back into the dating scene whilst maintaining social distancing? Let’s have a look at some ideas of dating in the new world.

Go For A Walk

There’s nothing quite as romantic as going for a walk. Whilst we’d usually consider holding hands, keeping our distance doesn’t mean we can’t chat. Walks aren’t just for stretching the legs, they’re for getting to know one another. Sharing stories, taking an interest in each other’s lives and finding out more about one another. Even at two metres apart you can see if there is a connection and chemistry and even see if that grows.

Watch A Film

Cinemas are reopening. Whilst you won’t be able to casually stretch your arm in the air and then pop it round the shoulders of your date, you can still enjoy the film together. Be sure to pick up the tab for the tickets and maybe buy the a bag of sweets too. If you’re not quite ready to head to the cinema, things like Netflix party let you watch a movie together, when you’re not together.

Enjoy An Art Gallery

Just because you can’t be within a certain distance of each other doesn’t mean you cant enjoy experiences together. Walk around an art gallery together and discuss what you like and don’t like. You can do the same at a museum, simply stagger your journey around and talk that little bit louder. You can find like minded single people who might just be into the same things as you on sites such as this Cambridgeshire dating site.

Be Outside

Lots of these ideas involved being inside where masks are having to be worn at the moment. The eyes tell a huge part of the story but it’s nice to see each other’s faces too. So be sure to spend some time outside. Even just taking some time to sit and get to know each other is wonderful. You’ll be surprised how quickly to time passes! Pick a great locations like in the park, or down by the River Cam, perfect for the Cambridgeshire dating scene.

A Coffee On Neighbouring Tables

The traditional coffee date might not be possible but you can sit on neighbouring tables and enjoy a socially distanced coffee and conversation. You find out a lot about a person by what type of coffee they drink and just because you’re not sitting together, it doesn’t mean you can’t pick up the bill. You could even do the same at a restaurant and enjoy a meal together-but-not-together. The romance of dates isn’t completely lost!

As you can see, dating has changed but we can still connect. We can still see if this person or that person is a possible partner for us and have plenty of fun in the process.
