The Best Black Friday Deals

Black Friday is coming. The offers and special prices have already started landing as somehow Black Friday has stretched into Black Friday Week or Black Friday Fortnight. With so many different retailers getting involved in what is potentially the biggest shopping day of the year, what actually are the best Black Friday deals? How do you approach shopping on Black Friday?

Make A List & Stick To It

We all know that at this time of year Santa makes a list and checks it twice. It’s a good way to live. If you know what you’re looking for this Christmas, make a list and do a little bit of research before Black Friday. See who has the best offers now on the items you need and on your list, jot down the price it’s currently going for. It’s not uncommon for prices to go up before Black Friday so that they can come back down again, appearing to be a good offer. Arming yourself with a list full of products and a bit of background info on pricing is essential. Stick to the list too. Don’t be drawn in by other things on offer, unless they are a substitute for something you’re looking for. Do a bit of leg work before Black Friday offers kick in and you can see just where the best Black Friday deals can be found.

Everybody Do The Shop Around

Just because a certain retailer has an item available for a special Black Friday price, it doesn’t mean it’s the best price around. Be sure to always shop around, compare prices and ensure you’re getting the best deal. You might be able to use a promotional code to make a slightly more expensive price cheaper than the cheapest.

Click Through Cashback Websites

Don’t forget, if you’re shopping online, to click through cashback websites. Sites like Quidco give you a percentage of the amount you spend with retailers, if you click through to the retailer via their website. You might as well earn some money back on the best Black Friday deals you find! This could be 1% or 10% but every little helps!

Cyber Monday

Black Friday leads into Cyber Monday. If you see something you’re after but you’re not 100% convinced on the price, leave it in your basket. You never know you might be sent an offer to make it cheaper, or after Black Friday, when Cyber Monday hits, it might drop even more with some sort of ‘extra 10% off’ prices or similar. If you don’t need it there and then but it’s something you’re just looking at, see what happens to the price on Cyber Monday.

Pay Credit Card Purchases Off In Full

Spending on credit cards because you don’t have the cash right now? Or so you have extra cover on those items? Be sure to pay off your credit cards in full. It’s so easy to get into debt at Christmas time with the pressure of needing to buy gifts. Remember, some of the best gifts in life are free. You don’t need to buy gifts and give presents. There’s no gift worth giving that will lead to you being in financial hardship. Avoid debt.

It’s Not A Deal If You Don’t Need It

We can be so easily persuaded when we see offers of 50% off or buy this get something else free. But remember, unless you were going to buy it anyway, it’s not actually an offer. You might save 40% off what the price once was but you’re buying something you had no intention of. Still shelling out cash. So the company has still got some cash out of you. They’re not going to sell it for cheaper than they buy it for, that makes no business sense. So remember, even the best Black Friday deals are only deals, if you really want or need them.
