Best Of The High Street
Depending on what you bought from Mothercare, there are places who sell what you need. For car seats and toys, Smyths is a great place to visit. Whilst it doesn’t have the nostalgia of another high street casualty, Toys R Us, it has what you need at a decent price. Halfords is also good for car seats as they will fit them for you. For clothing, Mamas & Papas, whilst expensive, can offer would be parents the opportunity to check out cute outfits. Boots are supposed to taking on the Mothercare brand Little Bird and they have loads of great options in their clothing range too. JoJo Maman Bébé is a wonderful store. Matalan has a great range of childrenswear as does Marks & Spencer. Don’t forget most of the main supermarkets have kidswear as well.
Shopping Online
One of the go to places for many people is Amazon and you’ll find everything you need on there. Sometimes it can feel a a little soulless though. Whilst the names already mentioned are available online too, you can also find little retailers you might not have heard of, selling unique and individual clothing for your tiny people. Check out Etsy and Notonthehighstreet for these type of small businesses, who will appreciate your support and give you top class customer service. What used to be Littlewoods is now online as Very and they now sell online. Shopping on the internet is so convenient and frees your time up to actually spend with your children. Second Hand Sellers
If you’re still craving for you little one to wear something from Mothercare, you can find second hand items on eBay. Second hand only means they’ve been worn before. They probably have plenty of life still in them. You’ll likely find BNWT (brand new with tags) items which people have forgotten about, along with bundles of well looked after clothing. As children grow out of clothing so quickly, you’ll save lots of money by shopping second hand. You might find toys on Facebook Marketplace too, for a fraction of the ‘as new’ price. Don’t forget, once you’re done with the clothes and toys you have, you can sell them on to make some of your money back. The buyer can quickly become the seller!
