Superbook
With episodes available on YouTube, Superbook takes two characters, Chris and Joy, along with their robot companion, time travelling into the past, landing in different bible stories. Through each episode, they learn moral truths and life lessons through this Bible-based adventure. Set in the 23rd century, there is lots of futuristic tech for kids to enjoy whilst the characters are in their own world. Once the Superbook device takes the children into the past, there is so much to learn. On the Superbook YouTube channel there is a mixture of full length episodes lasting around 25 minutes, along with shorter videos.
This is one of the best Christian shows for kids because of what it teaches and how it grabs the attention of youngsters. There is so much to learn for both children and parents alike. The rebooted series that we are directing you to is based on a version from the 1980s. It was rebooted in 2011 and introduces viewers to loads of different individuals, including Jonah, David, Ruth, Gideon, and Jesus. Superbook brings the Bible to life and there is also an app to download which has games and lots more.
Douglas Talks
If your children love puppets, they will love the next suggestion on our list of Christian shows for kids. Douglas Talks is a ministry with more than 200 videos currently available. In a fun and easy-to-understand way, these adorable green puppet helps explain Biblical truths to children and their parents. These are engaging and educational sessions, in a joyous way. Your children will love Douglas and listen to the words he says.
There is a huge back catalogue of content to dive into, including series based around different things. If it’s Christmas, you will find a holiday episode. If your church kids group is exploring the fruits of the spirit, you will find a video related to that. It is fantastic and a great way to learn about Christianity and apply it to the modern world. Perhaps your children love cartoons, but you aren’t so keen on them watching them because generally, they are full of nonsensical stuff. It feels like you are watching a YouTuber, albeit an animated one. The animation is a lot like you would see on TV, but the show follows 10-year-old Micah and his best friends as they learn what it’s like to be a follower of Christ.
There is a great balance of comedy and Christianity, providing values and lessons in a quirky way. Some of the songs will stay with you all week! Micah faces lots of obstacles in everyday life, a lot like our own kids. However, shows that having the Bible to help make sense of everything is definitely a good thing. There are also accompanying books so if you have a fan of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid at home, these could be a great way to connect with them.
