Probably not the title you were expecting on a money blog.
However, the incident in Manchester on Monday evening and the news of deaths throughout Tuesday had made me decide to change today’s blog.
I’ve rescheduled what was going to be published and instead want to ask you to do something. Hold each other close, be there for one another, be filled with so much love that it overpowers the hate in the world. Darkness will not rid darkness; only light will.
So many people queued up to give blood after the bombing, hospitals had enough and had to start turning people away. I’d encourage you, just like I’ve encouraged people since I started giving blood myself as soon as I was old enough to do so, sign up to become a blood donor. I know that if I was laying there or one of my friends or family members was, I’d expect blood to be there to save me. I love knowing that my 29 pints have helped people locally & nationally (you now get a text message when your donation is issued giving you the information about where it’s gone which is awesome).
If you want to do something to help, be there for people when they need you. Save a life by giving an hour of your time & a pint of your blood every few months. You get a brew & a biscuit (who doesn’t love Club biscuits!?!) at the end of it!
We will not be scared. We will not cower in fear.
Stay safe, stay united.
