I’m all for saving money & keeping waste out of landfill.
I spotted this BBC News article about tip shops.
Just one shop has sold 1 tonnes of stuff in one month (October) which otherwise would have ended up in landfill. The shop is in Wales & there are plans for others to be opened early next year.
Paula Perry, who runs the shop said “People who come in are buying toys ready to put away for Christmas, whereas they really perhaps couldn’t afford them (from normal shops).”
They say one persons trash is another ones treasure & if shops like this can keep some items out of holes in our countryside and also give them a second life, for people who perhaps otherwise couldn’t afford them, that’s fantastic!
