Lots of us have been thrown into a state of lockdown. Whilst people are still out there going to key worker jobs and keeping the country moving, which we thank them for, most of us are stuck at home. If you live alone this can be exceptionally lonely. If you are having to isolate by yourself you can feel beyond isolated. How do you connect with people? How can you still date and look for love? How can you keep a relationship going virtually? Let’s take a look.
Keep The Romance Going
If you’re already in a relationship, keep the romance going whilst you’re unable to see one another. Physical connection is such an important part of a relationship, from holding hands to sex. We’re currently missing out on so much as a cuddle. Little gestures, gifts, text messages when they don’t expect it help to bring the romance. A hand written letter is also a lovely way to express your feelings. Maybe, if you live within walking distance, you can arrange your daily exercise to go past their house. Dropping off a bouquet of flowers on their doorstep and stepping back after ringing the bell is a beautiful thing to do. Exchange smiles and kind words from a distance and keep the love flowing until we’re out of lockdown.

Use Dating Apps & Sites
If you’re looking for love, now could be the perfect time to put yourself out there. If you’re stuck at home, use that negative to your advantage and turn it into a positive. Get yourself online and sign up to a dating site. Choosing a local site to where you live is likely a good idea because once lockdown is over you can easily meet up with people who you connect with. If you live on the East coast of Scotland, for example, there is an Aberdeen dating site you could easily sign up to. Imagine talking to someone online, having a fantastic connection, swapping phone numbers, maybe video calling and then when all of this is over, being able to meet up in a pub. Find sites that connect singles in the same area like www.dateaberdeensingles.co.uk and you might find someone who you can really fall for.
Work Towards The End Of Lockdown
One of the key things is to use this time to work towards that time when lockdown is over. This could be connecting with new people or arranging dates for when you’re able to leave the house. If you don’t put yourself out there, no one will be able to find you and your soul mate could be looking! Maybe you use this time to contact someone from your past that you always had a bit of a crush on. If they say no, it’s not like you have to leave the house! If they say yes, you never know what might happen when you can meet up. Don’t waste this time. Use it to your advantage. Once lockdown is over, those online dates you’ve been on and text messages you’ve exchanged will turn into the plans you’ve made to meet. Stay safe!
