It might not be the most cost savvy thing to do, but stick with me.
When we had baby number 1, we had to buy everything.
When we had baby number 2, it took a while to get used to having an additional child.
With baby number 3 on the way, we decided to hire a cleaner.
The state of the house was always something that got away with us when we had baby 2. I was knackered, so my wife must have been even more knackered. Who wants to run the vac around when the baby is sleeping?!
For the sake of £12 a week, we’ve decided to hire a cleaner to keep on top of downstairs. There is no contract, she can do fortnightly if we want, or we can cancel a week if we’re away or have another appointment when she’s due to clean for us. It’s flexible, which works great for us, but the fact that the cleaning is kept on top of, the vacuuming, dusting, wiping down of the surfaces properly, takes something away from us whilst we adjust once again.
I mentioned the having to buy stuff for baby 1, we don’t have to do that this time, so the extra help is worth the money. Being self employed, when I’m not with the children I’ll be working so it frees me up to do that also.
It won’t be long term, perhaps until Christmas, but it’s a great idea & hopefully will help us get into the flow of having 3 kids.
