There’s nothing like going back to work on a Monday having enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Spending time with the kids. Lay ins (if you don’t have kids!) and making lots of memories. There’s nothing quite like relaxing in the evenings too, with some of your favourite food and maybe a movie. Of course, a glass of wine is perfect and I’ve got a couple of delicious ones to share with you.
This Weekend
It’s been all about family and photography for me this weekend. I purposefully didn’t do any extra work to either keep on top of things of get a jump start on the new week. Family time is important and we agreed to have a walk and enjoy time together, before pizza for tea in front of a film. There is a spectacular comet also doing the rounds in the sky throughout the night at the moment. The brightest one for almost two decades so that’s worth a look if you get the chance over the coming days. However, settling down with a delicious wine has been so relaxing. Getting wine delivered from this wonderful online e-shop has been fantastic. They know what they are talking about, have a great knowledge about wine and have some great bottles available for you to get delivered to your doorstep.
The Bottles
The two bottles I wanted to talk to you about are the Pinot Grigio 2018 | Venezia DOC and the Amélie Malbec Rosé 2016 | IGP Pays d’Oc.
The Pinot Grigio has an expert ranking of 89 and you can tell. It’s fresh, fruity and flavorful. There are flavours of peach, mango and a light orange blossom which make it perfect for summer evenings that are (hopefully!) on their way! The flavour stayed with you, in a beautiful way so you could continue the delicious taste, well after your sip.
The Malbec Rosé was stunning. My wife loves a rosé wine and this was one of her absolute favourites. I enjoyed it too, it was refreshing. Very easy to drink, you could pick out the strawberry and raspberry flavour. We enjoyed this with a meat and cheese board, which was ideal. I think this would work with a lightweight fish meal or perhaps some delicate sushi.
Both bottles are 12.5% and both exceptionally drinkable. We haven’t seen any friends lately as we’re still keeping ourselves to ourselves, however I could happily serve both bottles at a summer dinner party. They’d be something I took with me to an August garden party where the hosts ask you to bring a bottle. I’d encourage you to give them both a try this season.
Plan Your Next Week
So what have you got planned for your next week? Maybe it’s a trip away in your campervan? Perhaps it’s getting together with another family. Maybe you’re simply going to sit in your beautiful garden and enjoy the weather. Whatever you have planned, be sure to order a couple of bottles of wine online, so it can be delivered to you next day in time for when you need it. You have to enjoy the occasional treat in this life. Some gorgeous bottles of wine, enjoyed at your leisure, is perhaps the ultimate treat!
