You Must Adapt Your Business

There has never been a more important time to realise that in order for your business to survive, you must be able and willing to adapt your business. In this time of pulling together and also supporting one another, businesses have gone above and beyond to help their communities out whilst also tackling the difficulty of changing up what they’re doing.

Delivery Has Become So Important

A massive change in what businesses are doing is offering local delivery in order to keep selling products. From butchers, to baker, I’m fairly sure there are candlestick makers out there doing it too. Coffee shops are doing deliveries. Sweet shops are doing deliveries. Whatever you need, there is likely to be some business near you who are offering delivery. Whilst they would usually have people come to them, in order to survive this global pandemic, they’ve had to adapt their business.

The Rise Of The Post

There has been a sharp increase of business people thinking outside the box and making their products available via the post. As mentioned above, as well as local delivery which they undertake themselves, they’re relying on the postal service and couriers. One area I keep seeing on my social media pages is wedding cake makers. Obviously there are no weddings happening at the moment and I’ve noticed a number of cake makers change their offerings to cake boxes which can be posted. A range of utterly delicious tasty treats, hand made, baked, boxed and sent through your letterbox.

How Can You Adapt Your Business?

If you’ve lost customers or clients during this global pandemic, how can you adapt your business to stay in business? It could be something right now like the cake makers above, to provide your services in a different way. It could be something completely different, off the wall and totally separate to what you usually do. Maybe you have vans sitting there doing nothing, they could become delivery vans for another business! Perhaps you can offering your tutoring online via Zoom rather than face to face? Maybe you could have a remote team instead of an in-house one, and look at WhatsApp vs WhatsApp Business. You can start using the product that’s right for you, enhancing how well you can communicate and collaborate. Could you give something back too? Web designers making websites for the community, for example. Things might be the same for a while, if ever. The new normal might take some time to alter ourselves towards but if we adapt our business now, we’ll be much more prepared.
