If you want to sit down and watch a film for free, load up the app on your smart TV before putting the popcorn in the microwave. If you’re looking for apps like Netflix but free you can’t go wrong with one that isn’t very well publicised. It used to be known as IMDV TV but has been repackaged as Amazon FreeVee. You’ll find lots of original content on there, including the Alex Rider series and Bosch: Legacy. You can catch up on Hell’s Kitchen, The West Wing and watch incredible films like Gattaca. It is free, with no sign up or subscription. Yes it has ads, but it’s free!

Whilst it might be coming to an end, you can catch up on Neighbours on My5. Other standout series include the incredible Yellowstone and The Blacklist. A crazy amount of NCIS seasons are also on there, alongside The Teacher staring Sheridan Smith. There’s also plenty of Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol for little ones. If you’re into reality Geordie Shore can be found as well as Celebs On The Farm. For film fans, there are loads of flicks including Transporter 3.

It is also worth noting that you don’t need to have a TV license to access these series, as long as you are not watching anything live. Watch Emmerdale on ITV Hub after it’s already aired in it’s ‘normal’ TV slot and you can avoid that £150+. Check if you need a TV license here.
