The Walking Dead World Beyond

The Walking Dead has been running for a decade. We’ve seen heroes come, heroes go and plenty of bad guys in between. There has even been a spin off with Fear The Walking Dead introducing us to more characters and even giving us crossovers. Now though, there is a new kid on the block and it explores the first generation growing up in a zombie infested world. The Walking Dead World Beyond is coming and it looks pretty great!

What Is The Walking Dead World Beyond?

The Walking Dead World Beyond is a spin off from The Walking Dead. Whilst many people think that The Walking Dead has been going on for too long and they need to start winding up the seasons, the fact of the matter is that it’s a success. With success, comes other variations of trying for that success. The Walking Dead World Beyond will be a limited two season event, which I think is a good thing. Knowing how much we’re going to see from the start, especially in the zombie world we’ve come to know, is positive. It gives us an end to work towards, something which is perhaps lacking in the original and the first spin off.

Who Is Starring In The Walking Dead World Beyond?

There are a number of faces you might recognise from other projects but the spin off centres around children. The first real generation who has known nothing but this new world. A couple of the lead characters are played by Annet Mahendru, who you might know from The Americans, Aliyah Royale, who was in The Red Line last year and Nico Tortorella who played Josh in Younger. There will be connections to the rest of The Walking Dead world so there is a chance stories will link and intertwine. This might allow characters we know from the present or the past to appear in The Walking Dead World Beyond. What we do know already tough is that we will find out who rescued Rick Grimes and Jadis in the helicopter.

How Will I Be Able To Watch It?

Here in the UK, The Walking Dead is available on Sky, on the Fox channel. Fear The Walking Dead has been shown on BT TV and is currently available on Amazon Prime Video. That is where The Walking Dead World Beyond will be dropping too. You’ll be able to watch it on Amazon Prime Video from October 4th 2020.

Will You Be Watching?

What do you think of another expansion of The Walking Dead universe? The new show will explore teenagers on an adventure outside a gated community. How much will we see of what we already know, the repercussions of events we’ve seen happen? How much storytelling, drama and character development will they be able to fit into just two seasons? Will this be another step into the rest of the world that has been affected by the zombie apocalypse and will we ever find out how the UK fared in all of this?
