Substitute Days
There are no substitute days in the list of UK Bank Holidays 2025. Just like last year, the Bank Holidays fall during the working week. This means there are no weekend holidays which are then substituted for other days.

How To Make The Most Of Your Time Off
When we spend a vast proportion of our lives working, it’s important to use our allocated annual leave to get the most time off work to relax. By booking annual leave near UK Bank Holidays 2025, you can extend your time off.
For example, book off the four-day week both before and after the Easter weekend, to turn 8 days of annual leave into 16 days of holiday. That’s more than half of April not at work! You’ll clock out on Friday 11th April and won’t return until Monday 28th April. Sounds good!

With New Year’s Day landing on the Thursday, you will use seven days of holiday in total, but leave the workplace on Friday 19th December and not return until Monday 5th January 2026! That’s a whopping 16 days off to enjoy the festive season with family.
Whilst these tricks won’t work for everyone, because many of us work shifts and in retail where holidays are few and far between during the festive season, it can work for some of us.
